Kim has been involved with include participation in the preparation of initiatives including the Aboriginal Health Blueprint (Kelowna Accord), World Health Organization Report on Social Determinants of Aboriginal Health, Aboriginal HIV/AIDS Research, Métis Maternal-Child Health Research, Indigenous Suicide Prevention Initiative, Indigenous Nicaraguan Women’s Reproductive Health Project; Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Project, International Indigenous TB & Poverty Initiative (Committee of WHO), Pan Canadian Public Health Network, Elder Abuse Network, Multicultural Women’s Program, and International Gender Advisory Group. Kim holds an undergraduate degree in social work from the University of Calgary, a Master of Social Work Degree from Carleton University, a Master of Public Administration Degree from Queen’s University and certification in Family Mediation from York University.

Kim’s work along the health care continuum including clinical practice, prevention, health promotion, public health, policy development and research sought to advance the health of various population groups. Her experience involves strengthening public sector management/reform, change and capacity development in programs, organizations and communities working in areas such as addictions, Indigenous health, military and veterans’ health and gender equality.
